Spring Break at Tybee Island, GA 2026

Tybee Island was a fantastic place to visit for a short spring break in March. We wanted to stay longer but our flight from MSP was delayed due to weather. We had a direct flight booked for Tuesday morning and then I found out on Monday that we wouldn't be able to leave until Wednesday.
We lost our rental car and also took longer to travel on Wednesday with connecting flights.
We tried Turo for a car. The price was about the same but there are many more steps (IMO) to renting through Turo than through a traditional car rental company. We had to take many photos of the car before and after (as you should anyway with rentals) and submit them through the Turo app. We were given the location of the car in a parking garage at the Savannah airport, pay the parking fee, and then it was ours to use! It was a clean, new car with low mileage. Not sure I would use Turo again but now we have figured it out.
We could only stay until Saturday. Had to get the college kid back to school on Sunday. So it was a short visit. But very fun!
Favorite stops: Tybee Island Lighthouse, Tybee Island Marine Science Center, the riverfront shopping in Savannah.
Favorite restaurants: North Beach Bar and Grill, Sunrise Restaurant for breakfast, Sting Rays, The Sugar Shack for ice cream
