1620 Lindbergh Dr. S. Little Falls, MN 56345

Open Thursdays - Sundays

This is a great way to spend a summer day or would be beautiful in the fall. Just under two hours from the Twin Cities on the Mississippi River.

This museum has three main features:

- a museum showcasing many Charles Lindbergh artifacts (and a fantastic gift shop!)

- his actual boyhood home

- lovely hiking trails

MUSEUM

There is a small theater where you can watch a video about Charles Lindbergh.

Climb into this cockpit "simulator" to get the feel of what Lindbergh experience on his historic flight across the Atlantic.

Lindbergh drove this Volkswagon during his travels through Africa.

FAMILY HOME

I guess this is what it looks like when you don't have a junk drawer.

Lindbergh drove across the United States in this Saxon Six automobile. His father, also named Charles, rode around in it while campaigning for governor of the state of Minnesota. He lost that election.

HIKING TRAILS

Just outside the museum and home are groomed trails leading down to the Mississippi River. The trail connects to the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum and Charles A. Lindbergh State Park trail systems.

We stopped here on our way to a cabin further north. It was a wonderful place for a break. I would go back and just spend the day here. The gift shop offers touristy-type but higher quality souvenirs as well as non-fiction books about Lindbergh, Minnesota, and aeronautics in general, and post cards.
